UW-Green Bay Carillon Construction

The ringing that you hear on the UW-Green Bay campus might not be in your ears. Its probably the new carillon that was installed Thursday morning on the knoll outside the north entrance of the University Union. The 35-foot tower has more than 400 pre-loaded melodies and will feature selections written by UWGB music Prof. Cheryl Grosso, including the Alma Mater. http://www.uwgb.edu

A demonstration of green construction

In May 2008, the Museum of Science and Industry opened the exhibit "Smart Home: Green + Wired," featuring a modular home created by California-based Michelle Kaufmann designs.

The 2,500 square-foot mkSolaire model home demonstrates several green building techniques including the use of recycled materials, sustainable gardens and a green roof.

In this video, Mark Boyer of YoChicago.com talks to Anne Rashford, MSI's director of temporary exhibits, about the exhibit's history, purpose and design.
